Founded in 1982 by Gerald Byrne the company was then known as "G Byrne Electrical Contractors". The bulk of the work undertaken was in the industrial, commercial and service sectors of the local electrical industry.

In 1993 the Company was accepted to become a member of the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contractor's (Niceic logo and possible link). With this certification in place, a larger field of work became accessible to the Company, additional staff where employed and a steady growth began.

In 1997 "County Electrical Supplies" was founded by Gerald Byrne as an electrical wholesalers supplying not only "G Byrne Electrical Contractors" but also various other local contractors, local factories and the general public. Darren Leese was employed as general manager of "County Electrical Supplies" in 1998 and the new business began to expand, the contract to supply the local housing authority being a valued addition to a growing clientele base.

To benefit future expansion, the two Companies merged in 2000 to form Byrne Electrical Services. The new company now had a strong base with Gerald as Managing Director, Darren as Operations Manager and Wendy Muncaster dealing with Accounts and Administration.

The company clinentelle continued to grow. The expanding work force gained in confidence and experience as our reputation for reliability, our high standard of workmanship, our ability to meet deadlines without compromising standards and our guaranteed after-service care was being recognised. This reputation has become the moral for the company and even in the competitive markets of today's industry, the standards and attention to detail which have stood us proud in the past are still as important as ever.

The most recent change to the Company came in August 2003 when, after a period of ill health, sadly our much respected Director and founder of the company, Mr Gerald Byrne, passed away. Bill Porter was appointed Contracts Manager and Jayne, Gerald's wife, is now the Director of Byrne Electrical Services. The company has been forced to make an amount of changes following this but due to the bond formed within the company these changes have been sensitively accomplished and we all look forward to a bright future.
